This topic will help you edit user created MARC Sources. You can Edit any user created MARC Sources using any configured profile to access the list of sources. The default MARC Sources cannot be edited or deleted. If you attempt to edit a default MARC Source a message will display advising, This is a system source which cannot be edited.
The fields on the MARC Source Configuration form are listed below for your convenience.
Name to Display: The name for the source as you want it to display in the Other Available Sources / Current Selected Hierarchy lists.
Z39.50 Database Name: The name of the database as it is referred to by the MARC Record vendor.
Database IP Address: The Internet Protocol (IP) address of the database. For example: 58.123.68.210.
Port #: The designated Port on the vendor's server to be used to communicate with the database.
User Name: The designated User Name for your account to use to log on to the MARC Record vendor database.
Password: The designated Password for your account to use to log on to the MARC Record vendor database.
Group ID: The designated Group ID that your account is part of.
Edit a User Created MARC Source
Log in to OSA with a Username granted adequate permissions to configure MARC Sources Profiles.
Click the Admin button and the Administration menu displays.
Under MARC Download Preferences (or Integration/MARC Preferences for integrated institutions), click Preferred MARC Record Sources and the MARC Source Profile Management dialog displays.
Select any Profile from the Your Profiles drop-down list and click the Update Profile button. The MARC Source Profile Configuration dialog displays.
Highlight the source you want to edit and click the Edit Selected Source button, as shown above. The MARC Source Configuration dialog displays the current settings for the selected source.
Make changes, as appropriate.
When finished, click the Save button. The MARC Source Profile Configuration dialog returns.
